Morningkit watched the medicine cat intently from the entrance of the nursery. Her brother, Driftkit was practicing stalking outside in the new-leaf sun. Her mother, Pineberry called from their nest, "Morningkit?"
"Yes, mom," the little kit replied softly.
"You seem to like watching Gingerfrost," Pineberry concluded.
Morningkit shuffled her tiny paws, "I guess. I've always been interested in herbs."
Pineberry smiled, the grin spreading across her fluffy black fur, "Go meet her, Morningkit. Maybe she'll tell you all about being a medicine cat."
Morningkit's mouth hung open and she nodded quickly before rushing out to greet the young she-cat.

Gingerfrost paused from her work and looked at the herbs and leaves scattered about in front of her, she had been sorting herbs all day and the mess was starting to leak out from the medicine den and into the rest of the camp, it was drizzling and she really didn't want to get her fur wet, but she hated it when her herbs where a mess. The last time that she had left her piles just scattered about when an emergency came around she had the hardest time just finding cobwebs! Gingerfrost licked her nose and continued sorting, putting all the chervil in one pile, goldenrod in another, a pile of poppy seeds where sitting by her back paw. She grabbed the cobwebs and started to place them in the small rocky shelf that she found easy to store them when she heard some pawsteps outside the den. Gingerfrost turned her head and saw the little gray and white she-kit bounding up "Oh, hi Morningkit." Gingerfrost smiled as she greeted the kit, and then continued placing the herbs in their stacks. "What can I do for you?"

Morningkit's bright amber eyes lit up and she glanced nervously back at the nursery entrance, "Pineberry said I could come and see you about being a medicine cat."
The little kit watched Gingerfrost stacking herbs and imediately blurted out before Gingerfrost could reply, "Could I help you with your herbs?"

Gingerfrost continued her work and glanced back at the kit, she was slightly surprised from her request, but seemed to understand. Gingerfrost was about to reply when the little kit quickly asked if she could help with the herbs. "I'd love some help around here," Gingerfrost said with a purr of amusement. "and if you would really like to become a medicine cat I wouldn't turn down StarClan's divine path. Although I do think you should at least try it out for a few days to make sure that this is what you want to do." Gingerfrost said sitting down to watch the kit careful to avoid the pile of poppy seeds next to her paws. "Just remember not to eat anything you see around here, even if it smells yummy." she joked

"I've been thinking about it for a while. I can never seem to beat Driftkit when we play together and I'm interested in herbs," Morningkit meowed softly, looking up at the young tabby before letting out a little squeaking chuckle, "None of it smells as good as bird or mouse so I think I'm ok."
Morningkit nudged a clump of marigold leaves into a pile before turning around and sorting out a pile of raspberry leaves and catmint. She reconized catmint from when her father had greencough, Gingerfrost had used it to treat him, but in the end the old warrior went to StarClan. She pulled out some leaves and gave each one a good sniff before pulling out the catmint and putting them over in a separate pile beside the pile of poppy seeds next to Gingerfrost.

((I'm sorry if I have to wait for my cats to be approved, but I'm going to go ahead and rp))
SpazzyTurtle yawned and pushed her way into the medicine cat's den. "Mornin' Gingerfrost!" She said to the ginger cat. "Sorry to barge in, but I got a bit of a stomach ach. Ate too much prey!" She said with a laugh. When she saw the kit, she got down to eye level. "Hiya Morningkit! Helping Gingerfrost?" She asked the she-kit.

"Ah, No I'm not too busy, just sorting some herbs." Gingerfrost said carefully stepping over her piles to get to the things she had placed in their correct spots earlier that day. "It was starting to get cluttery in here and I can't stand a disorganized medicine den." She laughed pulling a few Juniper berries out of a crevice in the rock. "Too much prey you said?" She asked Placing about four of the purple berries at Spazzyturtle's paws. "If you eat those you should feel better in no time." She smiled. "You should try your hardest not to eat too much, that way there's more for everyone and you won't have to suffer for it."

"Thanks Gingerfur!" SpazzyTurtle meowed. "Actually, I was on a porder patrol. Went hunting on an empty stomach, not a good idea." She said with a laugh.

Gingerfrost laughed. "Still, I'm surprised you even found anything good to eat last time I checked the prey was still pretty scarce from Leafbare." She said with a flick of her ear as she bend down to sniff some of the piles of herbs at her paws. "Alright Morningkit, I think we've sorted everything and its time to put it on these little rocks here." She said pointing with her paw to some rocks that where up against another rocky wall making what looked like natural shelves. "I put my herbs in sections of similarities, like the Juniper berries I just gave Spazzyturtle would go next to the Mallow and Water Mint." She purred pointing to each of the herbs as she said their names. "Is it overwhelming yet?" Gingerfrost asked the kit with a laugh.

Morningkit shuffled her tiny paws, "A little, but if I become your apprentice I'll learn more about herbs and it won't seem as overwhelming," she watched as the medicine cat began sorting out the herbs into crevices in the rocks. Morningkit looked at the herbs Gingefrost was reffering to, "So if mallow and water mint are similar to juniper berries, they must be used for belly aches right?"

"That's right." Gingerfrost purred as she placed the herbs. "You're catching on fast, do you have any other questions?" She asked before bending down to sniff one of her herb piles. Gingerfrost blinked and pulled out some of the dried old pieces of the herb that had never been used. It was stuck to her claw as she turned around and placed the dead leaves in another pile of things near the entrance to the medicine den. The other leaves and such in that pile looked like they used to be herbs at one point but were now useless in their current state.
